Background

Mr. Schreiber graduated magna cum laude from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1978. He received his Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1981 where he served as Managing Editor of the Valparaiso University Law Review and was the recipient of the Charles A. Vaughn Memorial Award for Trial Advocacy.

In 1984, together with Joseph Garofalo, he founded the law firm known today as Garofalo, Schreiber, Storm & Grant, Chartered, located in Chicago, Illinois. The firm concentrates its practice in the areas of Worker’s Compensation Defense and Employer Liability Defense.

Contributions

Scott has extensive experience in all areas of Worker’s Compensation Defense. He has successfully handled hundreds of Worker’s Compensation cases on behalf of employers, their adjusting companies and insurance carriers. He has presented numerous times to local business organizations, insurance companies, self-insured employers, self-insured administrators and others on topics involving the defense of Worker’s Compensation claims.

Scott and his wife, Sue, are active members of their church where they lead fundraising efforts for Vidi Humana, a charitable organization committed to caring for AIDS patients in Mozambique, Africa.

Honors

Scott is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association. He has been selected by his peers as a “Leading Lawyer – Top 5% of Lawyers” in the area of Worker’s Compensation Defense. He has attained Martindale-Hubbell’s highest possible rating, AV Preeminent, for both legal ability and ethical standards. He was also named “2016 Lawyer of the Year for Worker’s Compensation Law – Employers” in Best Lawyers Magazine.
